Project MustStash: Lace

First an introduction:
This marks the beginning of a new feature, an item to cross off of my new years resolution, and a new sense of belonging.
After moving back home, or during the move really, while I was packing things into boxes, I realized how much stuff I have and how little most of these things are used. It’s shameful really. I felt gross being so careless. I have this mountain of possessions and how often do I feel like I want more? It’s sad really. I crave proper perspective and appreciation.
So now it’s a project:
I am officially acknowledging and appreciating that which I already own. I am documenting it all in photo collections, posting it here, and taking official inventory (yay spreadsheets).
The idea is to know (because we forget!) and then appreciate what I have, try to be more resourceful, plan projects with already owned materials in mind, to be more deliberate/conscious of my spending, and to upcycle or donate or destash that which I do not wish to keep.

The first of my collections is the lace (plus ribbons, trim, fabric tape) I’ve had sitting in gallon Ziplocs in the corner of my room:

Phew! Made it through the first one.
Isn’t it pretty?
I’m super pumped to use some of this stash!

I don’t know how long it will take to document it all but I am excited to see it all laid out. I can’t say that it will curb my packrat tendencies (i keep everything!) but at least I can make plans to use the 200+ Altoid tins in the garage.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the collections, confess your own pack-rat habits, or anything else you want to say.
I’d love even more for you to join the project!

What do you say?
(Can you say you know everything that you own?)

I totally just bought an outfit where lace was the main factor. My friend teased me about how it was kinda vampire like! LOL. But I love how lace is “in” right now. It’s so vintage. And my outfit was SUPER cute, even if it was a bit reminiscent of vampires.

Haha, YES. i have a lace-heavy dress which has gotten more than one, “that kinda looks like doll clothes”. It was supercute also, so I don’t mind.
I think most of my lace was from a co-worker of my grandmother’s whose mother had just passed away, leaving behind tons of quilting materials.

Woah, I was completely mesmerized by the texture and colors! Very pretty. Lace dresses are vintage, and almost wedding-esque, aren’t they?
